In 1979, Brake Specialists, a family owned and locally operated auto repair center in Austin, TX, first opened its garage doors. Brake Specialists was founded upon the principle of providing quality, reliable auto repair services and excellent customer service. Because of this principle, by the late 1980’s Brake Specialists had already grown to four locations in the Austin area.
As the automotive repair industry evolved in the early 90’s, so did Brake Specialists. We grew along with Austin and added four more stores between 1990 and 1997. We, just like Austin, were not done growing there, and added our ninth shop in 1999 followed by several more locations between 2006 and 2007.
Today, Brake Specialist Total Car Care has 80 employees at 11 Austin area locations, including: Buda, Dripping Springs, Hutto, Round Rock, Cedar Park and Lakeway. No matter our size, however, Brake Specialists Total Car Care will always remain family owned and dedicated to providing quality, reliable auto repairs and excellent customer service. Andy Walker Manager
I was born and raised in Alvin, Texas. I graduated from Alvin High School in 1986 and went straight into semi-truck repair work, where I quickly realized I wanted to be in the automotive repair industry. I spent the next 25 years as an auto technician and became master certified at age 38. I have been with Brake Specialist Total Car Care going on five years now. I love working with the people and the public at my shop. My job is a pleasure. Not many people can say they love coming to work each day, but I truly do.
In my free time I like to camp, fish and work on street rods. I love spending time with my five children daily.
